12G/6G/3G/HD-SDI Expansion Card

This SDI de-embedder expansion card provides a single 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI input and a corresponding re-driven 12G/6G/3G/HD/SD-SDI output via BNC connectors, supporting a wide range of broadcast video formats for flexible system integration.

The module extracts embedded audio from the incoming SDI signal, making all de-embedded audio channels available within the unit’s internal routing grid via the integrated web server. This allows selected audio channels to be easily assigned and routed within the wider system workflow.

The SDI output provides a re-clocked, re-driven copy of the input signal, enabling reliable distribution of SDI to additional devices within the installation. This card is strictly a de-embedder and does not provide any embedding functionality.

The expansion card connects directly to the main board using the supplied 4-pin power cable and 30-pin FFC control cable, with full installation instructions included. Designed for seamless integration, it offers a simple and efficient way to expand SDI audio extraction capability within the system.

Typical Applications

Ideal for outside broadcast (OB) environments where compact, high-density monitoring systems are required to extract audio from incoming SDI feeds while maintaining signal integrity for onward distribution. Its re-driven SDI output ensures reliable pass-through to additional equipment within complex mobile production workflows. It is also well suited to Master Control Room (MCR) installations, where embedded 12G-SDI audio needs to be monitored, routed, or analysed prior to transmission. In this role, it supports critical tasks such as signal verification, audio monitoring, and compliance checking, while maintaining a stable SDI feed for downstream systems.
