AVN-AESIO8-RAV

8 AES3 Input, 8 AES3 Output RAVENNA/AES67 Interface with XLR Connectivity

The AVN-AESIO8-RAV converts up to 8 channels of AES3 in and 8 channels of AES3 out to and from the Dante network, with full power and data redundancy.

AVN-AESIO8-RAV

8 AES3 Input, 8 AES3 Output RAVENNA/AES67 Interface with XLR Connectivity

Designed for broadcast, live production, and professional AV environments, the AVN-AESIO8-RAV provides a cost-effective and dependable solution for transporting low-latency audio between AES3 and Dante network domains.

The unit incorporates dual RJ45 1Gb/s Ethernet ports that accepts both power and data to the Dante network. These ports, designated primary and secondary, can be configured in redundant mode to provide full network redundancy where infrastructure allows. In this configuration, the unit seamlessly switches from primary to secondary, ensuring continuous audio and power in the event of a link loss or switch failure.

The ports can also operate in switched mode, enabling daisy-chaining from the secondary port (data only) to an additional unit. This can reduce cabling requirements in some installations. It should be noted that power is not passed through, and daisy-chained units require their own power supply.

An additional USB-C input is provided as an alternative DC power source where PoE is unavailable. The rear panel includes a threaded hole for securing single/top locking USB-C cables, ensuring a robust and reliable DC connection. For standard USB-C cables, a cable clamp is also fitted to provide strain relief to prevent accidental disconnection.

Configuration and routing are managed via ANEMAN (Merging technologies), offering a familiar and intuitive workflow for AV professionals and system integrators. The platform is designed for straightforward deployment, with minimal setup required beyond network configuration and level alignment.

All AES3 audio connections are provided via high-quality Neutrik XLR connectors, offering secure, dependable connectivity for professional audio applications. Each input can accept sample rates from 32kHz to 192kHz, which will be sample rate converted to the Dante system sample rate. A valid input signal is confirmed by front panel AES3 lock LEDs for each input. All outputs follow the RAVENNA/AES67 system sample rate. Front panel status and confidence LEDs provide clear indication of lock, PoE status, network link, and clock synchronisation, allowing for quick diagnostics and system monitoring. The unit is housed in a durable 1U rack-mount aluminium chassis, making it suitable for both fixed installations and mobile rack systems.

Simple to deploy and highly reliable, the AVN-AESI08-RAV is an ideal solution for professionals requiring seamless integration between AES3 and RAVENNA/AES67-based networked audio systems.

The unit is a 1U, 19-inch rack-mount product constructed from aluminium. The AVN-AIORK accessory is available to allow the unit to be rack-mounted with its rear panel facing forward, providing convenient access to all connections. This alternative mounting solution is ideal for setups where frequent cable changes or connection monitoring are required.
