AVN-PXH12
12 x 2 Channel Mix Monitor, AoIP Portal
The Sonifex AVN-PXH12 is a compact 1U monitor-mixer designed for Audio over IP (AoIP) applications. It enables AES67-compatible streams on your network to be assigned to channels and mixed down to analogue outputs, headphones, and an integrated speaker.
The unit supports monitoring of up to 12 sources simultaneously, selected from a total pool of 24 inputs. These sources can be drawn from four stereo analogue inputs; one front-panel 3.5mm jack, two rear-panel 3.5mm jacks, and one rear-panel stereo XLR pair, or from RAVENNA, AES67, and AES67-enabled Dante® streams.
Signals are assigned to 12 front-panel control channels, each offering ‘Normal’ and ‘Alternate’ source selection. Every channel features three buttons for source selection, muting, and routing to left, right, or stereo outputs. A rotary control adjusts level and provides visual feedback via green, amber, or red illumination to indicate signal level. Pressing the control activates a solo function for that channel.
Front-panel LEDs display network, synchronisation, and power supply status. Monitoring is available via parallel stereo headphone outputs on 6.35mm (¼”) and 3.5mm jacks, each with independent attenuation, along with a mono speaker output. Dedicated level controls are provided for both headphones and speaker, with an additional mute function for the speaker.
On the rear panel, three line-level XLR outputs can be configured as mono mix, stereo left/right, or assigned to specific input sources. The unit can also transmit the four stereo analogue inputs (eight channels) as AES67 streams, along with a stereo mix derived from the speaker output.
The AVN-PXH12 supports IEEE1588-2008 PTPv2 (media and default profiles) and can operate as either a master or follower clock. Dual power inputs (IEC mains and DC) provide redundancy. Network connectivity includes separate Ethernet ports for control and AoIP, plus an SFP interface that can replace the AoIP RJ45 connection when required.
A GPIO connector offers 10 configurable ports for external control, alongside a voltage-free relay for interfacing with other equipment. Configuration, source routing, firmware updates, and backup are handled via an integrated web server, while external control is available using Ember+.
The built-in web interface provides an intuitive environment for setup and configuration. It is fully responsive, adapting to different screen sizes for use on both desktop and mobile devices. Context-sensitive help is displayed on-screen, making it easy to understand and operate the unit.
Product Features
Using AES67 standard, ensuring interoperability with most AoIP systems. The unit uses RAVENNA to deliver full AES67 compatibility.
A built-in web server provides complete configuration. All channel sources can be assigned and adjusted from a single, intuitive interface.
SAP discovery enables identification of compatible devices and monitoring of Dante® AES67 streams.
Translucent, illuminated channel controls provide clear, at-a-glance level monitoring.
Dedicated Mute buttons and a Solo function allow rapid auditioning of individual or multiple channels.
‘Normal’ and ‘Alternate’ inputs per channel can be switched in under 1 ms for accurate A/B comparison.
Each channel can be routed to the left ear, right ear, or stereo mix for flexible headphone monitoring.
Front-panel headphone outputs (6.35mm and 3.5mm) and an integrated speaker, each with independent level control.
Supports sources from AoIP streams, balanced analogue, and three unbalanced inputs.
Flexible routing to AoIP streams or rear-panel balanced outputs.
Dual 1Gb Ethernet ports and a 1Gb SFP fibre interface for network connectivity.
Ten user-configurable GPIO ports for external control and integration.
Redundant power via dual AC and DC inputs.
Full control and configuration via Ethernet-connected web interface.
Dedicated speaker mute control.
